Update!

So, it's been about a month since I've blogged and let me tell you twin pregnancy is kicking my BUTT!
I won't bore you with the details, just know I'm not blogging for two very good reasons.
We have had quite an exciting week from throwing up in grocery stores to kid's cutting their eyelashes to getting pencil erasers stuck in their ears.
I didn't get out as many Christmas Cards as I had hoped so for those of you who didn't receive one in the mail, here it is....

I get to have an ultrasound of the twins every two weeks so that is fun, I got my latest one yesterday. Jacob finally got to come see it too. Baby A was sucking it's thumb. So Cute!
Okay here they are...they are growing!

Fashion Disaster

About a year ago Brayden had his appendix taken out and his hernia's repaired, so he had to wear the hospital gowns, of course, during his hospital stays.
The other night we were talking about hospitals and the gowns. I said something like, "remember you had to wear one of those gowns when you had your surgery?" He immediately responded, " OH MY GOSH, that was the biggest fashion disaster I have ever been in!"
I was laughing so hard, what does a nine year old boy know about fashion disasters? It was one of the funniest things I have ever heard come out of his mouth.
As soon as both surgeries were over, before he was even fully awake he insisted on putting his regular clothes back on. He is one funny kid!

P-day!

I seriously haven't stopped peeing for 6 days. I've lost 11.5 lbs of the 18lbs I gained from my OHSS. I feel so much better, I just had to update, I know you probably don't care, but I do. I feel halfway normal again. Well if you could call me normal in the first place. Anyways, that's my news for the day, gotta run, it's time for a potty break.

Okay Party People.....

I haven't blogged for about a month, and have a very good reason, I just wasn't sure if I wanted to let everyone in on my crazy life or not.
Well, today I decided, ya know what who cares, they are going to know sometime soon anyway.
So here we go...about 3 years ago after already trying for 2 years we found out we had secondary infertility, which means we already have kids but weren't going to be able to have anymore without some help. Well the only choice they gave us was ivitrofertilization.
Last year we set out on a journey to figure out if we could do this, well that is when most of you know I had to go on a 7 month course of accutane to clear up my face, so we had to postpone having fertility treatments.

In June of this year we started up again and decided we wanted to try an IUI(inuterine insemination) first to see if it might possibly work. It didn't! Our Dr. really wanted us to try IVF because he thought it would be our best chance since we had been trying for 5 years.

So we started it up in August, with all the meds and what not. To make a long story short everything was going really well. We got the eggs out, fertilized them, and were able to transfer two embryos back in.

Well about 5 days after that, I started to get really sick and started gaining weight, I was in pain, nauseous and couldn't breathe very well( I still can't)
So I called the Dr. and he told me I had a condition called OHSS, its basically where your ovaries are overstimulated and starts leaking fluid into your body. Well I felt as though I had been hit by a truck(i look like it too).
I keep going in and getting checked and I have to get lots of rest, and drink lots of fluids.

Anyways...the dr. kept telling me it was a good sign because hcg triggers it so that i was probably pregnant. Well, I have had two blood tests to confirm that I am, but I'm seriously going to have the longest pregnancy because I'm just barely pregnant. But because of the OHSS I already look really pregnant, so it's not like there is any hiding it. So if you see me, which you probably won't unless you come for a visit, this is why my stomach is so huge already. OH and did I mention I gained 18 lbs this week. AMAZING!!!

Luckily I have good friends and a fabulous husband that are taking care of me and my kids. My mom is coming tomorrow too, yay!

Here is a pic today....

Although this extremely frustrating and annoying, I do feel a little better each day, at least I can take showers now and get dressed, I am able to walk around a little too, but I have only left the house to go to dr's appts. Hopefully, the pregnancy will go well and I will get rid of this extra 18lbs of fluid soon. I think I lost one lb today, I think. lol.

Armpit hair and such!

So the other day I was going through the boy's take home folders and came across a sheet from the school nurse and principal. It was saying that this year the fourth and fifth graders were going to have a talk on puberty and if we didn't want them to participate then to sign the paper and turn it back in.
I was talking to one of my sisters on the phone at the time telling her about it and basically thinking out loud, wow, kids must go through puberty younger these days.
Well, Brayden aka professer snoopy pants was of course listening in and after I got of the phone says

Brayden: I heard you talking about THAT mom!
me: Talking about what?
Brayden: That PUBERTY thing.
me: OH ya do you even know what that is?
Brayden: Yes, it's that thing that changes your life FOREVER and you grow
armpit hair.
me: LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL....pretty much that is it in a nutshell.

A few days later I was laying in bed watching t.v. and he came and snuggled up to me and said what is that word again that changes your life forever.
I said PUBERTY he said ya and then skipped out of the room.

School started...woohoo!

Well we had our first day of school today and it went great! Brayden is starting fourth grade and Braxton second. I can't believe how time flies. We were up early and made them their favorite breakfast, swedish pancakes and bacon. YUM! This is about the only picture I could get of them because they were too excited/nervous to stand still. lol.

Of course Brayden is too cool to have us walk him to his class, I mean come on he is in 4th grade. Braxton needed us until we got to the 2nd grade hall and then he said okay you can go. They are really growing up!
They came home so happy and excited for the school year. They didn't stop chatting about their day for like 30 minutes. IT was great! We kept up with our tradition of going to Braum's for an ice cream cone too!!!!

Confessions of an Insomniac!!!

This post is brought to you by insomnia, anything written in this blog may or may not be true. I'm going on my 3rd night of sleeplessness and decided to post about who knows what.

Anyways...first I must confess I am addicted to the Olympics. I will be so sad when they are gone. It's funny I don't even think twice about them for 4 years and then for a few weeks they consume my life.
I get so nervous for the olympians too. I make myself crazy. Sometimes I will cheat and see who wins which medal, before they show it on t.v. so I can relax a little. Those live events about put me over the edge. Does this happen to anyone else?

2nd Confession...my favorite color is orange, it always has been and always will be. When I was younger and would tell people this, they would make fun of me or say ORANGE??? why???
Well, it's true, I love orange!
I went and got a pedicure this past week and chose orange for my toenails. I have gotten so many comments on them, I didn't realize so many different people had so many opinions about the colors people paint their toenails.
My two favorite comments were first by my gynecologist(ya you read that right), so you know how those visits go and where the Dr is and how he is all up in your business. Well my feet are right next to his face in freaking stirrups and he says, WOW!!! nice toenails, what do they call that color? lol. I remained quiet... I didn't know what to say. DID he really just try to make conversation about my toes? lol. AWKWARD!!!!!
The second comment I was at the grocery store and some random guy comes up to me and says WHOA!!!! No one will run over those toes!!! lol.

3rd and most likely last confession...I am NOT ready for school to start. I have really enjoyed having my kids at home this summer. They did great and we had a lot of fun although they are getting a little crazy this week.
The other day I was talking with Brayden about school and such. We got on the subject of football and him playing at some point in his life. I was explaining to him how some kids his age are A LOT bigger than he is, I said some fourth graders weigh like 85lbs, and he said "Ya, but do they have muscles like these????" and he lifted his sleeve and flexed his muscles. IT was really funny! So I'm going to miss them around the house all day.

WHY?

I just don't understand, maybe I'm the not so smart one...not sure. Every single time I have to deal with our health insurance people I have to buy new phones from throwing mine against the wall. (c:
So, awhile back when we were dealing with son # 1's surgeries, I was on the phone day in and day out trying to figure out what the deal was with the benefits, that seemed to be non-exsistent. Every time I would call they would say "just give it 30 days it will show up" SO, anyways....almost a year later that has finally been resolved. Once during that period I even got 3 random people's claims addressed to me. When I called to tell them they said "oops can you just shred those". IDIOTS!!!!
So today, once again I'm on the phone with my favorite smart people. All I wanted to do was get an estimate on a certain medication I need. Simple right? NO! First they asked what pharmacy I went to and I told them, they say I'm sorry there is no walgreens in that zip code.
UM okay sure I made that up.
But why, do I ask, do you need my pharmacy? I don't need it filled I just need to know an estimate on how much it will be.
So, finally she gets it and tells me the price of the first med. I move onto the 2nd med and she is like okay that one is $23,000. YA FREAKING RIGHT! Does she smoke crack? How on earth would somebody think that's normal? So I say I'm not sure you did that right can you look again. She says "IM SORRY, but that is right!" I say "NO it's not are you kidding me, it regularly does cost a lot but not 23,000" , she just continues to apologize, for being an idiot I guess! So finally after her tenth I'm sorry and my 10th you're wrong. I tell her she doesn't know what she is talking about and hang up.
I dial the number again hoping to get a human this time. The next girl sounds a little more intelligent, but no such luck. She tells me it's $38,000. CLICK!!!!!
Finally, I decide to call the benefits people and see if they are a little more normal than the pharmacy side of the ins.
3rd times a charm I guess, the medicine I was trying to figure out cost $200 while still a chunk of change, was at least not anywhere near the range of $23-$38,000.
DUH!!!

Quick Trip

We decided to take a quick trip back to Sea World Monday and Tuesday...The water park was open so we thought we would head down and check it out since we had season passes.

We left our batteries plugged in at my sister's house so the batteries we had lasted for all of maybe 5 pics. At least we have some proof we were there. oh well!!! We had some good family bonding time anyway and a ton of fun and probably walked 20 miles while we were there. My calves are soooooooooooooooooooo sore. I should get out more!!!

Hawaiian Falls Fun!

Earlier this month we were checking out Hawaiian Falls online deciding if we wanted to adventure out and try it. While we were perusing the website, Brayden spotted the deal where if you brought 7 up cans you could get a discount on your tickets. So, Brayden has been asking to buy 7up for weeks so we could go to Hawaiian falls. lol.

Then on Sunday Rebecca invited us to go with her and a couple of other families, I knew I couldn't pass it up, but I also knew I couldn't tell my kids too soon or they would drive me crazy wanting to know every little detail over and over.

Also, on Monday they were being a little naughty and I told them if they didn't shape up, I wasn't giving them their surprise at the end of the week. hehehe

On Wednesday morning we woke up and I told my kids to get ready so we could go "swimming" early. We packed our lunch like usual and were getting ready to go "swimming". I had placed a sack full of empty 7 up cans in the car and Brayden spotted them. He came running in and said I know what the surprise is at the end of the week!!!!!! We are going to Hawaiian Falls on Friday. I turned to him and said NO!
WE are going TODAY!!!
Needless to say they were excited and we had a great day..here are a few pics.

MEMORIES...

Fun if you want to participate.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

More Flags...more FUN!

The boys and some of their cousins all earned six flag's tickets for reading in school, so we finally cashed them in.
We spent 12 hours of fun at six flags yesterday. We had a ton of FUN, and it was really HOT!!! The high was 103. Needless to say we went on lots of water rides. Brad and Karalee and their 5 kids came and Don(my bro-in-law) and 3 of his kids joined us too. Here are a few pics!

Grandma and Grandpa Hyland got to come too. YAY! I missed him getting the hit but got hime running to first. lol. Also, take note of the pic of him when he is playing first base and the kid on first. HILARIOUS! Anyways baseball season is over but we sure had fun watching him.

I've lost it

So about every other day or so I lose my cell phone. Sometimes it's in the car or under the bed, but a few times it's been in the most random places.
A few years ago when we lived in an apt. I was going to visit a friend across the complex and stuck my cell phone in my back pocket, didn't think anymore about it until i was leaving her house and couldn't find it. We thought maybe one of her kids picked it up and took it somewhere, we searched everywhere. I went outside and retraced my steps but to no avail. The lawn people were there that day and I thought maybe one of them had picked it up, trying to ask them with my broken Spanish and their broken English didn't help much. I called the front office. NOTHING!!! I even went as far as to call my cell while following the lawn people to see if one of them had it and had accidentally forgotten they picked it up. (c: Anyways to make a long story short when the neighbor kid got home from school he found it inside his apartment on his stairs....WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!? That is one mystery I will never figure out. Believe me I tried.
So a few months ago I was calling my cell again, as I often do to look for it. I was outside headed for the car and I hear it ringing. It was in the garbage can...I have no idea!
So this leads me to today where I told my husband just to check me into a mental institution because I've finally lost it. I was getting the boys ready for school, making beds, lunches and breakfast. I remembered having my cell phone on Brayden's bed so I went back to get it. GONE!!!! So I decide to call it. Anyone want to take any guesses on where it was???? In my back pocket!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! What is happening to me? I had no recollection of it being there and even turned around and looked behind me on the ground when it started ringing.

It's always funny when it's someone else's child

Okay so at church on Sunday I was in Primary for a little bit, helping with a class. During sharing time they were talking about families and the roles that every member of a family has. The Primary President was teaching the lesson and she was asking the kids what each family member did in their own house, what their job was. She got to father, and asked what a Father did in the home. Without any warning, this little boy about 6 or 7 yells out, "FART".
I lost it! I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. The primary president acted like she didn't understand him and asked the question again. He yelled it again. It was so funny.
Another funny thing was he was being a little irreverent and his dad had been sitting in there with him and had just left, I mean seconds before his outburst. That would have been even better.
Well at least they are raising an honest child! lol.

It's just nature!

This week I found this big huge bird eating a dead rabbit in front of our house. I googled it and I think it's a turkey vulture. I read a little bit about them and thought this fact was the most interesting:
Its primary form of defense is vomiting, or coughing up semi-digested meat. The foul smelling vomit deters most predators intent on raiding their nest.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!
